This 'fantastical' floor lamp was created as a concept piece, exhibited at the Melbourne Fringe Furniture Festival, under the theme of ‘look between the lines’. This idea was reflected in the segmented 'spinal' design of the lamps vertical element. Visually and sculpturally this piece is inspired by the idea of blending nature and technology and the potential 'devil in the detail' of such a process. I used locally sourced, fallen timber (native 'Moonah' tree), placed at intervals along the semi-flexible spine. The base reflects the signature curves of the Arabesque collection, while the hand-cast lampshade introduces a contrasting angled, shard look. (Available by pre-order, contact us for more information)
