Broomshaker is the first piece in the Broomshaker series, which explores the recurring human desire for change and the transformative power we attribute to it. Referencing a contemporary street art style, it uses the metaphor of the broom (‘a clean sweep’) and it’s cultural associations with the supernatural to represent change. Suggesting that the inspiration for change can feel like a mystical, supernatural, force (the Witch).
This piece is presented in a black, shadow box frame with glass insert. The graphics are hand cut archival prints mounted in a collage style against a scaled brick wall, (hand-painted in acrylics).
