Art objects have a story to tell, a message to convey or a role to perform, regardless of where they hang, stand or rest. They are unique handcrafted items that can start a conversation, or remind us to stop and listen. I love to create and curate authentic objects and images that reflect the elements and aspects of the everyday or imperfect through their design. Through the creation of art objects under the banner of Urban Icons, my goal is to convey the unique beauty of everyday, familiar spaces and memories of the shared experience.

Meet the maker
I’m someone who has always been drawn to the unnoticed beauty of our surroundings, from untamed wilderness to urban ubiquity. My work is inspired by the inconspicuous and overlooked aspects of everyday life, drawing on the Japanese philosophy of ‘Wabi Sabi’ (an appreciation of the minor details of everyday life). What inspires me is having the opportunity to create unique works that share observations and experiences of our communal and personal spaces. Reminding us to engage and share our stories, as a remedy for surrounding ourselves with homogeneity and mass-produced compromise.
